Gang Unit

The BCSO Gang Unit strives to make Butte County a safer place to live, work, and play by conducting pro-active patrol techniques in order to prevent gang violence and other gang related crimes. The Gang Unit’s primary responsibilities are contacting and documenting gang members and associates as well as investigating gang related crimes. The investigators in our gang unit are highly trained and are often called to testify in court as gang experts.

In an effort to increase gang awareness in our community, the Gang Unit exchanges and disperses Butte County gang information with other local law enforcement agencies and gives informational gang presentations on a regular basis
