BUTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE IN CHICO
Chico, Ca— At approximately 4:00PM on 1/18/18, Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received a call from a man reporting his wife and son missing. At approximately 5:40PM a vehicle registered to the reporting party and his wife was located near Bed Bath and Beyond in Chico; however, there were no signs of the individuals reported missing.
BCSO Deputies responded to the reporting party’s residence on Anita Road. While at the residence, Deputies located the reporting party’s wife, identified as Sherry Facciuto, age 60 from Chico, deceased on the property. BCSO Investigations Unit responded to the scene and detectives are in the process of gathering, examining and processing evidence. Due to evidence located at the scene, detectives are investigating this incident as a homicide.
A search was conducted in the early morning hours of 1/19/18 in an effort to locate the reporting party’s son, identified as Alton Facciuto, age 32. Alton Facciuto is considered a person of interest in this case. Facciuto was located, arrested for a parole violation, and booked into Butte County Jail.
The investigation into this case is in the preliminary stages. In an effort to protect the integrity of the investigation, additional details will not be released at this time. BCSO Detectives are requesting that anyone who has had contact with Alton Facciuto in the past few days contact the BCSO Investigations Unit at 538-7671.
