Oroville-10/12/16

On Tuesday, 10/11/16 at approximately 5:45am, a male subject was brought into the Bangor Fire Station with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as Andrew Paz Junior, age 25.

Butte County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home on the 100 block of Bangor Park Road where they located the victim’s brother, Lorenzo Paz, age 20, as well as the victim’s father, Andres Paz, age 49. Two outdoor marijuana grow sites were also discovered on the property. BCSO detectives arrived at the scene to investigate. During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim’s brother, Lorenzo Paz, shot the victim. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. Firearms were seized from the residence. The marijuana plants found on scene were eradicated due to evidence found that indicated the sale and distribution of marijuana and the manufacturing of butane honey oil.  Lorenzo Paz was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on a charge of manslaughter with the use of a firearm, with bail set at $80,000.

The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information is encouraged to contact the investigations unit at 538-7671.
