Chico, Ca--On August 8, 2016 at approximately 8:50 p.m., the Butte County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from a man reporting he had been assaulted by a subject with a bat. The incident occurred in the 2200 block of Mulberry Avenue in Chico. Deputies responded to the scene and found the victim with significant head injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Butte County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit responded to the scene to process and collect evidence. This incident appears to be drug related. No arrests have been made at this time; however, the investigation is ongoing.
