Oroville, CA—In an effort to provide a fun and safe Halloween event for children and families, Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is hosting the first BCSO Trunk or Treat event this Halloween.
The Trunk or Treat event will be held on October 31st, from 4:30PM-6:30PM at the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, located at 3 Gillick Way in Oroville.
Public Safety vehicles from multiple agencies will be on display and decorated for Halloween. Halloween games and activities will be available, and public safety personnel are looking forward to greeting trunk or treaters. Children and families are encouraged to attend.
Please celebrate safely this Halloween, BCSO would like to offer a few safety reminders:
• Halloween costumes should be safe and fit appropriately. Make sure costumes do not create tripping hazards or block your vision.
• Children should always Trick-or-Treat with an adult. Remember there is safety in numbers.
• Wear glow sticks and use flashlights to be seen in the dark.
• Only Trick-or-Treat at homes with porch lights on.
• Candy Check! Have an adult check for unwrapped candy or wrappers that have been opened. Throw any unwrapped or partially wrapped candy away.
