Public Health

The mission of the Butte County Public Health Department (BCPHD) is to protect the public through promoting individual, community, and environmental health.

Public Health Adult Services Program

Two Public Health Nurses are dedicated to work with the Department of Employment and Social Services Adult Services Division. The nurses work with the social workers to assist our elderly and disabled adult population in Butte County.

Adult Services Include:

  • Home visits with social workers and on their own to individuals and families with medical needs.
  • Patient education on disease and prevention health education
  • Helping families find resources for care.

Public Health nurses assist social workers in understanding the complex medical needs of these individuals and families. Referral for our services are done by the social workers in the Adult Services Division.
