Office of Emergency Management
During disasters or large scale incidents the Butte County OEM coordinates the overall response through the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). When activated, the EOC provides a central location for responding and supporting agencies to collaborate response and recovery efforts in order to effectively and efficiently provide information and deploy resources. In non disaster times the Butte County OEM supports and coordinates disaster planning, community preparedness, mitigation, and training.
Emergency Events

In the event of a declared emergency, the Public Information Officer (PIO) function of the Emergency Operation Center is the responsibility of the Administration Department. The link to that page is provided below.

Butte Operational Area-Emergency Operations Plan

The Butte County Emergency Operations Plan (BCEOP) addresses the County planned response to extraordinary emergency situations associated with natural disasters, technological incidents and national security emergencies in or affecting the Butte County Operational Area which includes the unincorporated areas of the County of Butte and the incorporated areas of the Cities of Chico, Oroville, Gridley, Biggs and the Town of Paradise. This plan does not apply to normal day-to-day emergencies or the established departmental procedures used to cope with such emergencies. Rather, this plan focuses on operational concepts and would be implemented relative to large-scale disasters which can pose major threats to life, property and the environment requiring unusual emergency responses.
