It is the mission of the Butte County Cooperative Fire Agencies to provide professional services to protect lives, property, and environment to those residing, working or traveling within the unincorporated areas of Butte County, the Cities of Biggs and Gridley and the Town of Paradise.

Battalion 8 serves as the Town of Paradise Fire Department.  During 2014 there were 4,145 calls for service in Battalion 8. The Battalion 8 Town facilities are Fire Station 81 at 767 Birch Street, Fire Station 82 at 5545 South Libby Road, Fire Station 83 at 1250 Wagstaff Road (currently renting the living quarters and one bay to Butte County EMS), and a training house at Pearson and Pentz Roads.  Town owned Fire Apparatus includes two first out and two reserve Type 1(Structure) Engines, one Type 3 (Wildland) Engine, one Ladder Truck (Quint), one Squad, two Command Vehicles, a Breathing Support trailer, and two utilities. Personnel funded by the Town include one Battalion Chief, five Captains, six Fire Apparatus Engineers, four Firefighter II positions, one part time Administrative Assistant, one part time Fire Prevention Officer, and one Communications Operator.
