Battalion Chief Jason Morris

I started my Career in 1995 with CALFIRE up in the Siskiyou Unit as a Seasonal firefighter. In 1997 I became a Paramedic and worked part time for Enloe Hospital. I worked for Benicia City Fire Department as a Paramedic Firefighter for a short time, then came back to CALFIRE in Butte County. I worked as a Seasonal Firefighter, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and Fire Captain at multiple stations throughout Butte County and Tehama County.

Throughout my Career in Butte County I have been on the countywide Technical Rescue team for over 12 years, Rescue Team leader, Water Rescue Team, two different Incident Management teams helping manage large scale incidents throughout the state of California. I’m qualified in multiple positions to help with the management of these teams and incidents. I was the Hired Equipment Specialist for Butte County for over 8 years. I am currently an Instructor for Butte College teaching to the Fire Academy and Paramedic Academy.

I promoted to a limited-term Battalion Chief position at the Emergency Command Center in Tehama County CALFIRE, where I supervised 5 Captains and 4 Communication Operators. I also was the OES 911 County Coordinator for Tehama County working with every dispatch center in Tehama County. Once my time ended in Tehama County I came back to Butte County CALFIRE as a Fire Captain working at Station 41, the Nord Fire Station. I recently promoted to a permanent Battalion Chief position in Butte County, as the Emergency Command Center Battalion Chief, supervising up to 16 employees, and managing the radio and 911 communications in Butte County for CALFIRE, Butte County Fire, Gridley City, Biggs City, and the Town of Paradise fire departments.
