It is the mission of the Butte County Cooperative Fire Agencies to provide professional services to protect lives, property, and environment to those residing, working or traveling within the unincorporated areas of Butte County, the Cities of Biggs and Gridley and the Town of Paradise.

We no longer do preliminary site inspections prior to an applicant getting their building permit. An applicant will submit their required documents at the Butte County Development Services Department, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville.

Once submitted, the Fire Marshal’s office will receive the applicant's Site Plan electronically. We will then reference the Public Resources Code 4290 and 4291, Butte County Improvement Standards and the 2019 edition of the California Fire Code (CFC) when reviewing your site plan. The applicant will then be emailed the conditions that were not met during the initial site plan review and will proceed with their project. However, the conditions that were emailed MUST BE MET during the on-site final inspection.
