Outpatient Centers
Age Range: 0 to 24
Youth Outpatient Centers provide treatment and care for behavioral and emotional needs of children, transition age youth (TAY), and families. The services include mental health assessment, group and individual therapy, family therapy, case management, and skill building. If indicated, psychiatric evaluation and medication management is available. We also provide referrals to community support providers.

Foster Child Support
The Mobile Foster Care Team provides screening and assessment for youth detained and placed out of home by the Butte County DESS. Youth who are screened will be provided with age appropriate information about trauma and coping skills. Individuals who have underlying behavioral health issues will receive appropriate treatment services.

Transition Age Youth Team
Age Range: 16 to 24
The Transition Age Youth (TAY) team provides services to young adults ages 16-24. The team works with young adults to provide the support and to teach the skills necessary for TAY individuals to transition into adulthood and to meet goals around self sufficiency. Services provided address 5 key areas:
- Clinical services for mental health improvement and stabilization.
· Independent living skills including legal emancipation, fiscal management, housing acquisition and maintenance, and health-related supports and services
- Education and vocational training services including subject/career exploration, campus visits, training program identification, linking training to jobs.
- Employment services including career and job interest and skills assessment; academic supports, employment readiness; job availability, acquisition, and retention.
- Socialization opportunities including peer group assessment, identification of fun and healthy activities, and development of social supports and friends.

6th Street Center Drop-In Center
Age Range: 14 to 24
The 6th Street Center, a program of Youth for Change, is open to youth ages 14-24 that are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Services include basic needs (laundry facilities, showers, and afternoon meals), education support, employment development, and family reunification assistance, and referral to community services.

Homeless Emergency Action Response Team
The Homeless Emergency Action Response Team (HEART) program provides street outreach services, a 24/7 crisis hotline and mobile response, emergency shelter, assessment, case management, and brief individual and family counseling to stabilize living situations and strengthen families.

School Based Counseling
Age Range: 5 to 21 (K-12th Grade)
Northern Valley Catholic Social Services, Victor Community Support Services, Youth for Change, and Counseling Solutions provide mental health services in school settings throughout Butte County at over 60 campuses, covering most school districts. Clinicians provide a variety of counseling models and techniques to eligible students and their families. Medication services are available as indicated.
Parent Child Interaction Therapy
Age Range: 2 to 7
Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), provided by Youth for Change, is for children with behavior problems, placing emphasis on improving the quality of the parent-child relationship and changing parent-child interaction. In PCIT, parents are taught specific skills to establish a nurturing and secure relationship with their child while increasing their child’s pro-social behavior and decreasing negative behavior.

Therapeutic Behavioral Services
Age Range: 0 to 21
Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), provided by Victor Community Support Services and Youth for Change, is a one-on-one behavioral health service available to youth under age 21 and who’s behaviors are possibly placing them at significant risk of an out of home placement. TBS services need to be accessed through a referral by a clinician, psychologist or a mental health service provider. Therapeutic Behavioral Services are always used in conjunction with another mental health service.
Youth Empowerment Services
Age Range: 8 to 24
This program, facilitated by Youth For Change, offers opportunities for youth to engage in outdoor and recreational activities to the degree with which they are comfortable. The goal of the YES Program is to equip youth with the skills ability to function at a healthy level in traditional after school programs, educational settings and their home environments. In addition, the program aims to strengthen family bonds, provide education on accessing community resources, and promote personal growth and higher functionality through safe and intentional challenges, and mastery of skills presented during groups. Examples of activities:
- Rock Climbing and Knot Tying
- Canoeing and Navigation
- Hiking and Species Identification
- Whitewater Rafting
- Challenge Course and Team Building Activities
- Gardening and Horticulture
- Camping and Backpacking
- Community Service Projects
- And many other leisure and outdoor/recreation based activities
