The mission of the Butte County Library is to serve the Learning, Cultural, and Community needs of the diverse populations of our County.

Our libraries will be closed July 2nd in honor of Independence Day.

Though our doors will be closed that day, our online resources will always be available 24/7.


Room Reservation

The Butte County Library provides conference rooms in the Chico, Gridley, Oroville and Paradise branch libraries. These rooms may be used by members of the community for the presentation and exchange of information. For more information and to book your room Click Here . Summer Reading 2022: Read Beyond the Beaten Path!

June 1 - July 31, 2022

All six library branches are participating in-person and online in June and July and will have FREE events and activities for all ages. All ages are encouraged to participate by reading for fun, exploring their communities, and engaging in library events!

Lunch at the Library is returning to the Library again this year! We will be serving at our Oroville Branch (thanks to Butte County Office of Education). No appointments are needed. Note: Lunches are only for youth under 18 years old.

Schedule (times and dates may be subject to change):

Oroville: Tuesday-FridayJune 14 - August 5, 11:30-12:30.
