Butte County government provides services to residents through 23 diverse departments. OROVILLE, CA - Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services and Butte County Probation celebrated forty-two (42) graduating foster and probation youth at a ceremony held last night.  Twenty- two (22) of these youth are foster youth, seventeen (17) of these youth are probation youth that obtained their diploma through the Table Mountain School, and three (3) of these youth are former Butte County foster youth, graduating from college. 

On average 24% of foster youth struggle with disabilities while in school, across the United States, only 50% will receive a high school diploma, and only 10% of former foster youth will attend college and, of that 10%, only 3% will graduate.

Butte County has partnered with Butte County Office of Education, Butte College, Youth for Change and Youth & Family Programs in creating a memorable experience for our graduating youth.
