The Butte County Department of Public Works has launched an Interactive Road Conditions Map that highlights County road conditions. The map is available on the Butte County website as well as on the Butte County Connect app.
The Interactive Road Conditions Map allows community members to view changes in roadway status for county-maintained roads, including information about the anticipated length of time the road is expected to be impacted, traffic controls in place, available detours and seasonal road closures. This information can be viewed on desktop and mobile devices. Previously, closure information was presented in list form on the website.
“We are always working to improve road safety and to better communicate with residents throughout the County,” said Dennis Schmidt, Director of Public Works. “The interactive map provides a much better overview of local road closures and will help our Department keep First Responders and residents informed of rapidly evolving conditions, especially during winter flooding events, heavy snowstorms, and other dynamic weather events.”
Community members can download the Butte County Connect app via Google Play or the Apple Store. Once downloaded, the app also allows you to report items of concern, find a library branch, pay property taxes, and view county service information.
Residents can view the Interactive Road Conditions Map at www.buttecounty.net/roadconditions.
