City of Gridley/Butte County Fire Department

Station 74 is located in the City of Gridley in south Butte County. The station is staffed by four full time firefighters twenty-four hours per day. The fire station staffs a fire engine and ladder truck. The community is also supported by a volunteer company that serves both Biggs and Gridley. Fire Station 74 is also the home to the Butte County Water Rescue Team. The team is a California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CAL OES) Type II water rescue team and they operate several boats and equipment to complete water rescues in all the area waterways. On an average year the team responds to 25 water rescues throughout Butte County and neighboring counties.
