BUTTE COUNTY ANNOUNCES BUDGET HEARING FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 RECOMMENDED BUDGET

Oroville, Calif.—On June 13, 2023, the Butte County Board of Supervisors directed a public hearing for consideration of the Recommended Budget to commence on June 27, 2023 at 1:00pm. The Recommended Budget can be found on the Butte County website at www.buttecounty.net/1427/Budget.
At the Budget Hearing, staff will provide an overview of the Recommended Budget and recommended adjustments. At the conclusion of the Budget Hearing, staff will request Board action to adopt the Budget for fiscal year 2023-24.
The Budget Hearing is open to the public and will be held at the Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 25 County Center Drive in Oroville. Butte County residents who wish to comment but are not able to attend in person may send written comments by email to [email protected] or by mail addressed to:

BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO RECEIVE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 RECOMMENDED BUDGET AT UPCOMING BOARD MEETING
Oroville, Ca—As referenced in the Butte County Board of Supervisors Meeting Agenda, the Board will receive the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Recommended Budget at their June 13, 2023 meeting. It’s important to note that discussions and decisions regarding the budget will not be made at the June 13 meeting, the Board will simply receive the budget and set the Budget Hearings.
Budget Hearings provide an opportunity for the community to comment on the recommended budget and for the Board of Supervisors to make adjustments to the budget. Budget Hearings will take place at the Board Meeting scheduled for June 27, 2023.
“Providing a recommended budget to the Board is a complex task that involves months of analysis and preparation,” said Chief Administrative Officer Andy Pickett. “On June 13, we will provide the recommended budget to the Board Members; however, any discussion surrounding the budget and decisions regarding the budget, will take place at the Budget Hearings on June 27.”
