BUTTE COUNTY ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND HOUSEHOLDS IMPACTED BY THE RECENT SEVERE WINTER SNOW STORMS
Deadline Extended to July 20, 2023
Previously, Butte County Residents had until June 5 to register for federal aid, but at Cal OES’ request, the federal government extended the deadline by 45 days.
Oroville, Ca— The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently announced that individuals and households in Butte County are eligible for Individual Assistance through a Federal Disaster Designation.
Individual Assistance is available for individuals and homeowners who suffered damage to their homes or vehicles due to snow from winter storms beginning on February 21, 2023 and continuing through early March 2023. The deadline to apply for assistance is June 20, 2023.
Residents can also apply for assistance online at https://www.fema.gov/disaster/4699#help-families by clicking the red “Apply for Assistance” button, or through a mobile app available at https://www.fema.gov/about/news-multimedia/mobile-products. For those who would prefer to apply for assistance over the phone, a FEMA helpline is available at 1-800-621-3362.
Residents will need to have the following information on hand when applying for assistance:
• Disaster Name: California Severe Winter Storms, Straight-Line Winds, Flooding, Landslides, and Mudslides
• Disaster Number: 4699
• Insurance Information if applicable
• Social Security Number
• Date of Birth
• Bank Account Information
