Update from your Library:

The Butte County Libraries will be closed Saturday June 19, 2021 in honor of Juneteenth. Literacy Services and Library Administration will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 18, 2021.

The Friends of the Library in Oroville are still planning to have their booksale at the Oroville Library on Saturday June 19 at 10am - 2pm.

We will be open again on Tuesday, June 22.

Hey Teens!

Paint a mural in the teen section of the Oroville, Durham, OR Chico Branch! 

  • What: Design a mural for the library - the mural concept is up to you!
  • Who: Applicant(s) must be in grades 9-13 and from surrounding areas of the Oroville, Durham, and Chico communities. Individuals or groups of 2-5 people can submit.
  • When: Submissions are accepted June 16-July 31, 2021. Winners will be announced by August 14, 2021.
  • Where: The teen area if the Durham, Chico, and Oroville branches

Updated COVID-19 Guidelines

Masks are no longer required in library buildings for patrons fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  Masks are still required for patrons not vaccinated for COVID-19.  By walking inside the building, patrons are attesting that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Library patrons are encouraged to browse and check-out items, keeping physical distance measures in place and limiting their visits to one hour or less.  Limited computer use and tables available. For more information, please call Butte County Library at 530-552-5652, option 2.

  • All library branch locations are accepting returns.
  • All meeting room reservations are unavailable until further notice.
  • WiFi is available for use with your own device. 
  • Limited public computers are available at every branch (guest pass is required).
