Health Promotion
The Butte County Community Health Program works to continuously create and improve our communities' physical and social environments by advocating for healthy places that are designed and built to improve the quality of life for all people who live, work, worship, learn, and play here - where every person is free to make choices amid a variety of healthy, available, accessible, and affordable options.
Healthy Eating
Eating healthy is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. The foods we eat affect our health, bodies, and minds. Eighty % of losing weight and/or feeling healthier is what we decide to put into our bodies. Making healthy food choices lets us look and feel our best and decreases our risk of chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes, and obesity-which are among the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems in the United States.

If you're enjoying an activity, you'll have no trouble making time to do it and that is what is going to make a difference to your health. Here are some helpful tips and links to get you started on a new healthier you. Let's get moving!

Re-Think Your Drink
What Do You Drink? It Makes More Difference Than You Think! Calories in drinks are not hidden (they're listed right on the Nutrition Facts label), but many people don't realize just how many calories beverages can contribute to their daily intake. Sugary drinks - like soda, sports drinks, energy drinks, and sweetened coffees and teas - are the largest source of added sugar in the diet. But there is good news: you have plenty of options for reducing the number of calories in what you drink.
