2024 Medi-Cal transition in Butte County

OROVILLE, Calif.

Medi-Cal recipients in Butte County now have a new healthcare service provider.

Ten North State counties, including Butte, made the switch to Partnership Health Plan of California on January 1, 2024.

Butte County residents on Medi-Cal have been automatically enrolled in Partnership. New member packets were mailed out and set to arrive during the first week of January.

Can I keep my doctor?

You will be able to keep your current doctor if they contract with Partnership. We recommend calling your doctor to ask if they will be in the network.

You may be able to keep your doctor for 12 months under “continuity of care” if they do not work with Partnership.

Anyone who wants to choose a new doctor can call Partnership after Jan. 1.

If you do not pick a doctor, Partnership will choose one for you—however, you can change doctors anytime over the phone.

Appointments after January 1, 2024

Medi-Cal recipients are urged to call Partnership if they have appointments scheduled in 2024. They include:

  • Treatment for a health issue
  • Surgery or medical procedure
  • Doctor visits if you are about to or have just had a baby

The switch in healthcare service providers will not impact benefits or Medi-Cal eligibility. Programs such as CalWORKs, CalFresh or SSI will not change.
