More financial aid available to Bear Fire survivors

BERRY CREEK, Calif.

More financial help is available to survivors of the 2020 Bear Fire which devastated Berry Creek and surrounding areas of Butte County.

People who lost their homes can apply for up to $500,000 to help rebuild. Even if your home survived, you can still receive as much as $50,000 for home-hardening measures to protect against future fires.

This is the latest round of financial aid going to California residents impacted by FEMA-declared disasters in 2020. Homeowners who make up to 120 percent of the area’s median income may benefit from ReCoverCA’s housing programs.

More information about the program, including how to apply and eligibility details, is available on the ReCoverCA website.

People who live in impacted areas of Napa, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Fresno, Los Angeles, Shasta and Siskiyou Counties are also eligible.
