Medication Assisted Treatment
Age Range: Ages 18 and over
Using medication (Suboxone, Vivitrol) coupled with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a whole person approach to the treatment of substance use disorders related to central nervous system depressants (opioids, alcohol). Medication Assisted Treatment includes assessment, individual and group counseling, physician review and monitoring, and case management. -
Outpatient Centers
Age Range: 12 to 17
Providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment and recovery services for youth who are concerned about their use of alcohol, marijuana, prescription narcotic or other substance. Treatment includes individual counseling, group counseling, case management support, and relapse prevention planning. Referrals to community resources are also provided.Age Range: Ages 18 and over
Outpatient Centers provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and recovery services to individuals facing substance use challenges, substance use challenges related to alcohol use, narcotic or prescription use, marijuana, and/or stimulant use. Stepping Stones
Age Range: All
Stepping Stones (Perinatal Program) in collaboration with Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services (DESS), is an outpatient program that provides substance use treatment to women who are pregnant or parenting children.The program provides comprehensive, strength-based, family centered treatment for mothers seeking recovery from addiction. Stepping Stones is guided by a philosophy that embraces hope, respect and support; empowering women to transform their lives and become healthy role-models for their families and their community. Through partnerships with other agencies, our program offers group and individual counseling and education about a variety of health-related topics. Mothers are taught life skills and work through family and home issues in a supportive group setting. Participants take an active role in the treatment process and learn effective parenting without the dependence of alcohol or drugs.
Treatment Admission
Due to the unique risks associated with pregnant IV users, Stepping Stones gives treatment priority to these individuals. The Stepping Stones Perinatal Program gives preference to treatment as follows:- Pregnant injecting drug users;
- Pregnant substance abusers;
- Injecting drug users; and
- All others.
Interim Services
These interim services are available to priority population until the individual is admitted to treatment, including counseling and education about:- HIV,
- TB,
- Risks of needle-sharing,
- Risks of STD transmission to partners and infants and steps to prevent transmission.
For pregnant women, interim services also include counseling on the effects of alcohol and drug use on the fetus and referral to prenatal care.

Treatment Court Program
Age Range: Ages 18 and over
Adult Drug Court, in collaboration with the law enforcement and the court, provides access and treatment to felony offenders who have substance disorders. This is a voluntary program providing structure by linking supports and treatment with ongoing judicial oversight, probation supervision, and team management. BCDBH provides assessments, group and individual treatment, and referrals to residential treatment as indicated.560 Cohasset Road
