Communicable diseases spread from one person to another or from an animal to a person. The Butte County Public Health Department provides monitoring and follow-up for certain communicable diseases such as sexually transmitted diseases, food-borne diseases, hepatitis A, B and C, meningitis, tuberculosis, and more.
