Wyandotte Creek Subbasin

Basin Information

Wyandotte Creek lies in the eastern central portion of the Sacramento Groundwater Basin.  Formerly part of the North Yuba subbasin, Wyandotte Creek was formed when DWR split the basin along the Butte-Yuba county line (October 2016). Wyandotte Creek subbasin is bounded on the north and west by the Feather River, on the south by the Butte-Yuba county line and on the east by the Sierra Nevada. Based on an analysis of hydrographs the Feather River creates a groundwater divide, which acts as as a flow barrier in the shallow subsurface. Precipitation is nearly 20 inches in the southwest too greater than 32 inches in the northeast. (Wyandotte Creek overview)
