Treasurer-Tax Collector
The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Department operates three divisions - Treasury, Property Tax, and Central Collections. While the activities of each division are unique, the primary purpose of the department as a whole is the collection and cash management of revenue owed to the County, cities, special districts, school districts, and the court system. The department is committed to providing excellent customer service and assuring effective utilization of the public’s tax dollars through a program of performance measurement and management.

Property Taxes

The final due date for the second installment of 2017-2018 secured property taxes was Tuesday, April 10th. Late fees have been added to oustanding accounts but property owners have until June 29th to pay before the property transfers to a "defaulted" status on July 1st. There are several payment options available:

  • Pay online by e-check - it's a free service!
  • Pay online by credit card for a convenience fee of 2.34% Read more.
  • Pay online by debit card for a convenience fee of $4.95 Read more.
  • Pay by cash or check in our Oroville office
  • Mail your payment (Note: payments must be received by the Treasurer-Tax Collector by Friday, June 29th. Postmarks are not valid at this time of the year.)

Tax Auction

An online auction of tax-defaulted properties will be conducted June 15-18, 2018 through Bid4Assets. Read more.

The Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program provides property owners an option for financing clean energy improvements but there are risks. Read more.
