Sheriff Kory L. HoneaThe Sheriff’s Office serves all the citizens of Butte County by providing a mix of public safety and public service functions. The Sheriff’s Office provides around-the-clock law enforcement service to every region of the county. In addition to 24 hour policing, we offer Butte County citizens a full range of services including, coroner services, civil services, court security and corrections.

The mission of the Butte County Sheriff’s Office is to protect and serve the citizens of Butte County by providing vigorous, ethical, efficient law enforcement and to increase public awareness of personal safety and security measures. We will provide humane custody and care for those incarcerated in the County Jail.

In order to accomplish this mission, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office will encourage professionalism through improved communication and by providing continuous and productive training. The Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing a secure and comfortable work environment in which employees are encouraged to take pride in their work and strive for excellence.
