The Sheriff’s Office provides around-the-clock law enforcement service to every region of the county. In addition to 24 hour policing, we offer Butte County citizens a full range of services including, coroner services, civil services, court security and corrections.
Special Enforcement Unit

 

The Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) is comprised of one Sheriff’s sergeant, two Sheriff’s Detectives and one District Attorney Investigator.  Upon receiving complaints regarding suspicious activity involving marijuana SEU investigates the cultivation, sales and distribution of marijuana.  SEU also investigates and eradicates known marijuana gardens ran by Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO).  SEU utilizes special equipment to include helicopters, plane, ATV’s and K-9’s to assist in their investigation.
