BUTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDS TO REPORTS OF MAN JUMPING OFF BRIDGE AT THE WEST BRANCH OF THE FEATHER RIVER
Oroville, Ca—At approximately 7:15AM, on 1/19/18, Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received reports of a man jumping off the bridge over the West Branch of the Feather River.
BCSO Deputies, along with State Parks, Search and Rescue and Cal Fire responded to the scene. Just before 8:00AM, Deputies were able to locate the body of a man in the water. It appears that the man died upon impact.
Deputies are in the process of attempting to identify the man. Anyone with information is asked to contact BCSO at 538-7322.
