SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO ERADICATION OF 17,212 MARIJUANA PLANTS

On May 17, 2017 the Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit served a search warrant on two vacant parcels of land on Jatko Road in Berry Creek. During the service of the search warrant SEU Detectives located and eradicated 17,212 growing marijuana plants. The marijuana garden was being watered from a nearby seasonal creek and spring that fed into Canyon Creek. The cultivators had diverted the water by use of gravity fed poly pipe to storage ponds and then piped to the growing site. SEU Detectives located a camp area that included a tent, sleeping bags, cooking area, food items, and personal toiletries and clothing. No suspects were located during the service of the search warrant.
