On Tuesday, 10/11/16 at
approximately 5:45am, a male subject was brought into the Bangor Fire Station
with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The man was pronounced dead at the
scene and has been identified as Andrew Paz Junior, age 25.
Butte County Sheriff’s
Deputies responded to a home on the 100 block of Bangor Park Road where they
located the victim’s brother, Lorenzo Paz, age 20, as well as the victim’s
father, Andres Paz, age 49. Two outdoor marijuana grow sites were also
discovered on the property. BCSO detectives arrived at the scene to
investigate. During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim’s
brother, Lorenzo Paz, shot the victim. The motive for the shooting is still
under investigation. Firearms were seized from the residence. The marijuana
plants found on scene were eradicated due to evidence found that indicated the
sale and distribution of marijuana and the manufacturing of butane honey
oil. Lorenzo Paz was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on a
charge of manslaughter with the use of a firearm, with bail set at $80,000.
