Oroville- 9/13/16

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several shootings in South Oroville. BCSO detectives are investigating the possibility that all these incidents are gang-related. Below is a timeline of the weekend shootings:

9/9/16 (11:15pm)-A residence on the 2300 block of D Street, Oroville, is struck by several bullets. No reports of injuries.

9/10/16 (4:15am)- A residence on the 2400 block of D Street, Oroville, is struck by several bullets. A 16-year-old boy inside the residence is shot several times in the leg.

9/11/16 (4:15am)-The same residence on the 2400 block of D Street is stuck by bullets. No reports of injuries. Shortly after, a home on the 2400 block of Fort Wayne Street was struck by bullets. It is believed the residence was a random target. No reports of injuries.

9/11/16- (10:00pm)- Reports of shots heard outside a home on 2300 block of D Street. No reports of injuries.

Detectives are concerned with the increasing level of violence and apparent cross-retaliation which is risking the lives of not only the intended targets, but also the lives of children, bystanders and other residents of the area.

Detectives are asking any local residents who may have further information and/or video surveillance of the suspects or suspect vehicles to contact detectives. Anyone with information about who is responsible for these shooting incidents is asked to contact the Butte County Sheriff’s Investigations Unit at (530) 538-7671.
