Oroville, Ca.—Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) detectives have continued to investigate the May 6, 2017 shooting of Justin Jagears, age 34 of Oroville. Through the investigation, detectives determined that David Tuttle, age 71 of Oroville, and Edward Gaston, age 39 of Oroville, are the primary suspects in the incident. Through witness interviews, detectives determined that Jagears, Tuttle and Gaston left the residence they reside in together on the afternoon of May 6, 2017. Tuttle and Gaston returned to the residence later that day without Jagears. Information obtained through the investigation leads detectives to believe that Tuttle and Gaston transported Jagears to a location on Forbestown Road where a verbal argument ensued, leading to Jagears being shot. Jagears was air lifted to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Tuttle and Gaston were arrested on open counts of homicide and have been booked into the Butte County Jail.
