Recycle Butte
Used oil is one of the most easily recyclable materials in common use.  It is also one of the most important to recycle properly.  Improperly disposed oil can contaminate ground water as well as surface water.  Used oil is re-refined into new oil or reprocessed into other fuels.  By recycling used oil, we reduce our dependence on other sources of fossil fuels.
Recycling Guide

Welcome. This is the electronic copy of the Butte County Recycling Guide. It is a compilation of recycling ideas and a directory of businesses who can assist with the recycling of various items listed in the Guide.

We have arranged this Guide into two major categories: “By material” and “By community”. Just got bottles and cans? Click on the "Beverage Container Recycling" link for all locations in Butte County. If you want to find all the possibilities for recycling a particular item, look it up in the “By material” listings. You’ll find all the locations in Butte County that accept that item for recycling. You’ll be amazed to find out how many things can be recycled - right here in Butte County!

If you want to find out what can be recycled in your community, just turn to the “By community” listings. You’ll find this section helpful whether you’ve lived in the area for years or if you’re new to the area and want to know what options are available in your neighborhood.
