April 17, 2007 - The Butte County Department of Public Works wishes to advise motorists and residents in the area that the upper section of Honey Run Road will be closed for approximately 1.7 miles from the Covered Bridge to the Town of Paradise from Tuesday, April 17 – Friday, June 15 due to roadway construction. Additionally, expect 30 minute delays on the lower section of Honey Run Road and Centerville Road from the Covered Bridge for 6.5 miles. Temporary delays will be in effect Monday thru Friday from 6 am to 5 pm.
Access to emergency vehicles WILL be provided.
April 12, 2007 - The Butte County Department of Public Works wishes to advise motorists and residents in the area that the bottom section of Swedes Flat Road will be closed for approximately 1 ½ miles from Oro Bangor Highway from Wednesday, April 11 – Friday, June 29 due to roadway construction. Temporary road closure will be in effect Monday thru Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Access to emergency vehicles WILL be provided.

1/25/2005 - Neal Road Landfill Rate Changes Effective 2/1/2005 - Tipping fees for certain classes will change including commercial hauler and self haulers over 750 pounds. Click here to view new rates.

12/11/03 - Butte County Public Works Department and the California Highway Patrol will present a informational presentation on the enforcement of speed limits and California speed laws on December 18th. This is in regard to proposed speed limit changes on East Gridley Road and Larkin Road.
11/07/03 - Butte County's revised Storm Water Management Program has been accepted by the Regional Water Quality Control Board as complete. A copy of the Program will be posted on the State Water Resources Control Board's website for 60 days. The Regional Water Quality Control Board will most likely issue the County a Municipal Storm Water Permit sometime in early 2004.
11/07/03 - The Butte County Public Works Department and the California Highway Patrol have prepared an informational presentation on the enforcement of speed limits and the California State speed laws. It will be held on Monday December 8th at 5:30 p.m. Paradise Pines Property Owners Association. The CHP is responsible for enforcement and relies on studies conducted by the Public Works Department to enforce the law and cite speeders.
10/29/03 - The Public Works Dept announced that there will be a Tire Amnesty Day on November 15th, 2003. County residents will be able to drop off 9 or less passenger car or light truck tires (no rims) at the Neal Road Landfill between 8:00am and 2:00pm. Funded by a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board.

Public Notice issued about the closure of West East Ave for the initial reconstruction of that
part crossing the rail road tracks. This work will occur on June 15th and 16th. Alternate route
will be marked
3/09/03 - Today is the first day of Butte County's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System (NPDES) Phase II 5-year permit period. The County's permit area covers basically the Chico
urban area so operations in Oroville and elsewhere in the County are not covered under the permit
at this time but could be at a future date. Over the next five years, Butte County will need to
fully implement a Storm Water Management Program that address 6 minimum measures.
3/01/03 - Public Works Department will assume full management of the
Neal Road Landfill Facility. Prior to this date the facility was managed by a waste management
company under contract to the County.
2/25/03 - Posted Revised Draft of the Butte County Stormwater Management Plan on
the PW Website.
7/15/02 - Added the Improvement Standards. Will allow you to either view or download
the various parts of the Improvement Standards.
5/10/02 - The new Butte County Public Works web site was released to the public.
