Land Development Division - Improvement Standards
It is the purpose of these Improvement Standards to provide minimum standards to be applied to improvements and private works to be dedicated to the public and accepted by the County for maintenance or operation, as well as improvements to be installed within existing rights-of-way and easements. This is necessary in order to provide for coordinated development of required facilities to be used by and for the protection of the public. These standards shall apply to and regulate the design and preparation of plans for construction of streets, highways, alleys, drainage, sewerage, street lighting, water supply facilities and related public improvements.

The Board of Supervisors of Butte County adopted an update to the Improvement Standards in October of 2006. We are in the process of updating these pages with the new standards. For historical purposed, the old standards may be viewed by clicking here.
