Traffic Collsions
The Butte County Department of Public Works was awarded a grant by the California Office of Traffic Safety in October of 2005. This grant was designed to allow the Department to implement a Automated Collision Tracking Relational Database and to provide an interactive mapping program on the County Website.
The Collision Database has been implemented and we are able to produce detailed reports for accidents that have occured in the County between the year 2000 and September of 2005. As additional data is made available from the State of California, we will be updating our database and the information published on this website. Watch our news for details about the Web version of the collision mapping.
We currently have two pages that will provide additional information about traffic collisions in the County. The first will chart statistics of various type of accidents and will also provide pdf versions with more details. The second is links to graphic maps with collsions mapped as to location, showing date and time and cause of collision.
