Description of Project:
The work involves in general the excavation of the final waste cell of Module 4 at the Neal Road Sanitary Landfill. The landfill is located off of Neal Road, 7 miles south of Chico and 1-mile east of State Highway 99. The current estimated volume of excavation is 550,000 cubic yards. The project will involve mass excavation of native volcanic rock and soils, construction of storm water ditches and drainage structures and relocation of HDPE landfill pipelines in preparation of the installation of a base liner system. The base liner system will be constructed under a separate contract at a later date.
The plans and specifications are currently in design. A release and bid date has not yet been determined.
