Public Health

The mission of the Butte County Public Health Department (BCPHD) is to protect the public through promoting individual, community, and environmental health. This is achieved by providing a wide range of services in more than 50 programs including: women and children’s health, communicable and infectious diseases, planning for and responding to disasters, healthy and safe animals, and protecting natural resources while improving the environment.

HIV/AIDS Data & Reports

In an effort to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS, all counties in California confidentially track and report the number of confirmed HIV/AIDS cases in their community. The Butte County Public Health Department monitors the number of reported HIV/AIDS cases in our county as well as administers a range of programs and services. Health care providers and laboratories must report any new cases of HIV to the local health department.
