Public Health

The mission of the Butte County Public Health Department (BCPHD) is to protect the public through promoting individual, community, and environmental health. This is achieved by providing a wide range of services in more than 50 programs including: women and children’s health, communicable and infectious diseases, planning for and responding to disasters, healthy and safe animals, and protecting natural resources while improving the environment.

Public Health Child & Adult Immunizations

Vaccines or “shots” have been available in the United States since the 1950’s. Immunization programs throughout the country have made great strides in reducing the rate of vaccine preventable diseases by immunizing children. The health departments goal is to improve access to immunizations, so that you or your child receives all of the vaccine doses needed to be protected from serious illness. Contact your private doctor, community or public health clinic to be sure that you and your children are fully immunized. When you are protected, the community is protected. You are contributing to “Community Immunity”.
