Our Mission:
"The Butte County Probation Department is committed to enhancing public safety through rehabilitation and accountability."
Non-Detention
If released immediately after arrest or citation, the minor will be contacted by a Probation Officer and receive instructions to attend court hearings. An Out of Custody Referral may be made to the DA by the Probation Officer.
Detention
If transported to Juvenile Hall, a minor will go through a detention/intake process. The offense, police report, and assessment score will then determine the proceedings.
Home Supervision Agreement
After detention, the Probation Officer may decide to release a minor on Home Supervision Agreement, with agreement to attend court hearings and other terms. If agreement is violated, the minor will again be detained.
