Public Health

The mission of the Butte County Public Health Department (BCPHD) is to protect the public through promoting individual, community, and environmental health. This is achieved by providing a wide range of services in more than 50 programs including: women and children’s health, communicable and infectious diseases, planning for and responding to disasters, healthy and safe animals, and protecting natural resources while improving the environment.

Public Health California Children's Services

California Children's Services (CCS) is a state program for children with certain diseases or health problems. Through this program, children up to 21 years old who qualify for the program, can get the health care and services they need. CCS helps to connect children with specialists who know how to care for children with special health care needs.


California Children's Services (CCS) Provides:

  • Services to qualified children that may include payment for doctor visits, hospital stays, surgery, physical therapy, occupational therapy, tests, X-rays, medical equipment and medical supplies. Learn more about how children can qualify.
  • Medical care coordination for medically eligible children to help them obtain special medical services.
  • Physical and/or Occupational Therapy for specialized diagnoses that may qualify for the Medical Therapy Program (MTP). Learn more about MTP program. For specific services and information about equipment /orthotics, please view the brochures below:
