Your safety and the safety of our staff are important to us. Most of your needs can be met online or by phone. We appreciate your help to keep us all safe.

  • You do not have to come into our office to apply for benefits.
  • You can turn in your verifications online or in the drop boxes located in the front of our buildings. 

To get general benefit information, ask case questions, or speak to an Eligibility Specialist, you may call our Customer Service Center (CSC) at:

You may also use this number to:

  •  Request forms
  •  Request a new BIC or EBT card
  •  Get benefit information or a status update on your case
  •  Request an application for benefits
  •  Add someone to your case
  •  Change your address
  •  Help with your C4yourself account
  •  Change your IVR PIN number

If you have a C4yourself account, you can upload documents, verifications requested by your worker, complete your SAR7, etc. For help setting up a C4yourself account, you can call the CSC 1-877-410-8803.

If you would like to drop something off, you can use your drop boxes located in the front of our buildings. Documents dropped here are picked up and delivered to your worker within 24 hours.

CALFRESH REPLACEMENT BENEFITS

 

CURRENT CALFRESH RECIPIENTS

If food bought with your CalFresh benefits was spoiled as a result of power outages or destroyed due to fire, you can request a replacement of your benefits.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

#1     Contact your county to request a replacement of your CalFresh benefits.   Connect your county office by calling our customer service center at:   1-877-410-8803.

#2     Complete, sign and submit a “CF303” form to request a replacement.   Include contact information and a short description of how your food was lost, including times and dates.

 

IMPORTANT

Your request for replacement benefits must be made within 10 days of the incident causing your food to be lost.  

 

CalFresh

Cal-Fresh Hot Foods Waiver Effective through October 22, 2020

As a result of the North Complex Fire, a Hot Foods waiver has been approved for affected CalFresh households in Butte and surrounding counties.

This means that current CalFresh recipients in Butte or other effected counties may now use their benefits to purchase hot and/or prepared foods through October 22, 2020. Counties included in the waiver are Butte County and the surrounding counties of Glenn, Plumas, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba.

If you are not a CalFresh recipient but are in need of food assistance in Butte County due to losses incurred as a result of the fires, you may qualify for Disaster CalFresh assistance. Please call 1-877-410-8803 for more information.

EBT Online

As of April 28, 2020 you can use your EBT card to make purchases online.

Individuals and families can purchase groceries online using their EBT card at Amazon and Walmart. If you receive CalWORKs, you may also be able to use your cash benefits to make purchases online at Wal-Mart.

California expedited implementation of EBT online purchasing in response to COVID-19. Allowing for EBT online purchases will support vulnerable populations in meeting their nutrition needs, especially while a statewide stay at home order remains in place. California is actively working to expand the number of stores that accept EBT online in the future.

CalFresh provides monthly food benefits that help individuals and families buy healthy, nutritious food! Even if temporary, individuals and families who have experienced a change in their circumstances and need additional help may apply for CalFresh. Californian’s can visit GetCalFresh.org to apply or call 1-877-847-3663 (FOOD) to be connected to their local county social service office.

Warning - Phone/Text Scam Targeting EBT Cardholders:Some EBT cardholders are receiving an automated call or text asking them to provide personal information, including their 16-digit card number and PIN. EBT cardholders should never share their card number or PIN.

CalFresh, formerly known as Food Stamps, helps low-income people buy the food they need for good health. For most households, CalFresh benefits are only a part of their food budget. They must spend some of their own cash, along with their CalFresh Benefits, in order to buy enough food for the month. 

Individuals and families may be eligible to receive CalFresh benefits, whether or not they work, if they have low income. 

CalFresh benefits are given in the form of an Electronic Benefits (EBT) card, similar to a bank debit card.

Who Qualifies

Specific eligibility requirements take into account an applicant’s citizenship, income, and other factors. Generally, services are available to low income individuals and families who :

  • Are U.S. Citizens, or
  • Are Legal Immigrants who:
    • Have lived in the U.S. for at least five (5) years, or
    • Are receiving disability-related assistance or benefits, regardless of entry date, or
    • Are children under 18 years of age regardless of entry date.
