There
are two basic programs that provide assistance with paying
for health care for an eligible individual or family.
Each program has its own rules to determine who is eligible
and the amount, if any, of monthly co-payment. Not all
doctors accept these programs for payment. Check with
your doctor. |

Some
of the Services and Programs we provide are:
Medical
Assistance
- Medi-Cal
Medi-Cal
is California's health care entitlement program for
low-income individuals and families who receive public
assistance or lack health care coverage and who qualify
for the program.
- CMSP
(County Medical Services Program)
CMSP
pays for health care for eligible, low-income adults
21 years through 64 years of age who meet all CMSP
criteria and who do not qualify for Medi-Cal.
Eligibility
Each program has rules about who qualifies
for assistance. Medi-Cal has many mini-programs with special
rules that cover a wide range of income, property limits
and medical needs. For each program, facts about the individual
or household, including, but not limited to, income, bank
accounts, stocks, vehicles, age and residency, will be
verified.
How
To Apply
Applications for people living in Butte
County can be made at either of the two Community
Employment Centers listed on the side bar. Applications
can also be mailed into the office. Interviews are done
in the office. However, in some cases the interview can
be done over the phone or in another location.
If
an interpreter is needed please ask at the time an appointment
is made so one can be made available for the interview.
There is no cost to you for the services of an interpreter.
