Far
Northern Regional Center
Far Northern Regional Center (FRNC) is a fixed
point of referral for individuals with developmental
disabilities and their families. FNRC also provides
services to infants and toddlers (from birth to
three years old) who are showing a delay in their
development or who are at substantially high risk
for a developmental disability.
FNRC
coordinates community resources such as education,
recreation, health, rehabilitation and welfare
for individuals with developmental disabilities.

In-Home
Supportive Services (IHSS)
The
program provides physical support to eligible
aged, blind or disabled adults and children who
would not otherwise be able to safely remain in
their homes.

Butte
County Children and Families Commission
The
California Children and Families Act promotes
the health and well-being of young children and
their families; to improve developmental outcomes
for children and help them grow to their fullest
potential. The Act is designed to support delivery
at the local level, a wide range of programs and
services to help families and communities support
their children and assure they have the best opportunities
to grow and develop fully. The Commission carries
out its duty in the administration of the funds
allocated to Butte County through the California
Children and Families Act of 1998.

County Department of Child Support Services
The
mission of the Department of Child Support Services
is to use our resources to establish paternity and
obtain fair and appropriate child support orders
and to collect and distribute child support to families
in an effort to enhance the quality of life and
self-esteem of children in an efficient, compassionate,
and professional manner.

Independent
Living Program (Youth and Family Programs)
The
Butte County Independent Living Program (ILP) serves
foster care youth starting at the age of 16 until
they turn 21. Butte College Independent Living Skills
Program (ILSP) classes are available to youth aged
15.5 years and above. ILP prepares youth in out-of-home
care for adulthood by offering free classes on subjects
such as budgeting, cooking, finding housing, and
other life skills.

Court
Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program
As
trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed
by judges to be a voice for dependent children in
court. The result is they are placed into safe,
loving homes where they can thrive.
