New Era Mine Appeal Hearing with the Butte County Board of Supervisors

Final Action Scheduled
- At their meeting of 2008-06-24, the Board made a
Motion of Intent (3-2) to find that the '20 cubic yards
applies to concentrated material' AND require that
New Era sign a Statement of Responsibility, an
Indemnification Agreement, pay DDS costs incurred
and finalize their Financial Assurance of $267,411. Staff
is working on the preparation of Findings in
support of their Motion and will bring them forward for final action
on July 22nd.

MISSION STATEMENT
* Guide and Assist in the
orderly development of Butte County by providing quality planning,
plan checking, building inspection, code compliance and public
information services.
* Work Cooperatively with the County’s elected officials and other
County departments to carry forward the County’s adopted plans,
policies and programs.
* Foster Public Understanding of development-related requirements,
issues and opportunities through public outreach and education,
participation in community groups, building industry organizations
(and other forums) and enhance public access to information.
* Facilitate Client Permits, Projects and Services in a timely,
professional manner.
