Program 2.2 Issues/Status  
 
The Planning Division has been coordinating a clarification to the implementation of Program 2.2 of the General Plan, which states, "The Zoning Ordinance shall require that a buffer be established on property proposed for residential development in order to protect existing agricultural uses from incompatible use conflicts. The desired standard shall be 300 feet, but may be adjusted to address unusual circumstances. Guidelines, as part of the General Plan's implementation, shall be developed illustrating buffer requirements for various situations."


2007-06-26 Board of Supervisors provides further clarification to the Ag Buffer Program staff report.  This staff report posed 4 questions for Board clarification, including a possible amendment to Exhibit A (the applicability map). 2007-02-13 Board of Supervisors Public Hearing - Adoption of an Ordinance Adding Section 24-286 and Deleting Section 24-285 of Chapter 24 (Zoning) of the Butte County Code | Resolution 07-036 approved | Approved Ordinance # 3953 | EXHIBIT A (7.12 MB)- approval is requested to amend Chapter 24 (Zoning) to include an agricultural buffer and setback requirement (300 ft) and to delete Section 24-285 for agricultural segregations of home sites for the purpose of implementing portions of the General Plan Agricultural Element - action requested - SUBJECT TO ITEMS A, B, C, AND D ON STAFF REPORT ADOPT NEGATIVE DECLARATION; ADOPT ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 24-286 AND DELETING SECTION 24-285 OF ARTICLE V OF CHAPTER 24 (ZONING) OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN; AND ADOPT RESOLUTION APPROVING EXHIBIT A, AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO MAINTAIN THIS EXHIBIT.
