We process Development Applications including environmental review, provide zoning information and support long-range planning through the County’s General Plan. Code Enforcement responds to Building, Land Use, Abandoned Vehicles, Noise, Nuisance Abatement and the County’s Restrictions on Cultivation of Medical Marijuana Ordinance complaints.

Butte County General Plan 2030 Related Resources

Butte County General Plan 2030 – This link provides the County’s General Plan, in one PDF document as well as in separate chapters (elements) for download. The Butte County General Plan 2030 was updated and adopted on October 26, 2010 (County Resolution 10-152) and Amended on November 6, 2012 (County Resolution 12-124). Butte County General Plan 2030 represents the conclusion of a multi-year effort begun in 2006 to comprehensively update the County’s General Plan to provide areas for future growth and conservation until the year 2030.

Butte County General Plan 2030 Land Use Map – This link provides a single PDF showing the official General Plan 2030 Land Use Map, providing mapping information on the various land use designations and overlays. Explanations for each land use designation and overlay can be found in the General Plan itself. Butte County General Plan 2030 Action Plan – This link provides access to a PDF of the General Plan 2030 Action Plan. The Action Plan shows all of the 169 separate actions directed by General Plan 2030 that help to implement the General Plan. The Action Plan includes information related to the timing, primary and additional responsible agencies, and estimate costs for each action. The Action Plan also includes a Post General Plan 2030 Adoption Strategy to address future changes and corrections to the General Plan.

Butte County Climate Action Plan (CAP) - This link provides access to the Butte CAP webpage. The CAP implements the County’s recently adopted General Plan by providing goals, measures, and actions to improve quality of life in the County. The CAP contains programs and actions designed to help the County sustain its natural resources, grow efficiently, improve transportation, and ensure long-term resiliency in a changing environmental and economic climate.

Monthly Board of Supervisor Updates on the General Plan 2030 Action Plan  – This link provides access to all Monthly Updates provided to the Board on the implementation of General Plan 2030.

Butte County General Plan 2030 Environmental Impact Report (EIR) –This link provides access to PDF documents related to the General Plan 2030 and Zoning Ordinance EIR. This includes:
