This check utilized an alternative to air seeding, dry seeding. Dry seeding combines rolling, seeding, and chemical application into one step. Dry seeded fields receive a flush of water to germinate the seeds. The fields remain unflooded (above) until about 30 days after planting at which time a permanent flood is established.
