Dry seeding, similar in concept to drill seeding, is another technique used to reduce input costs. Rice seed is sown with a hopper-equipped roller that meters the seeds into the grooves created by the roller. Growers will frequently apply fertilizers at the same time if the roller is so equipped. This is another method of eliminating several operational costs by combining multiple steps into one.
