Our Mission: "Partner with individuals, families and the community for recovery from serious mental health and substance abuse issues and to promote wellness, resiliency and hope."

Behavioral Health provides services for individuals in crisis, for youth, for adults and for alcohol and drug treatment.  Services are provided in Chico, Paradise, Oroville, Gridley and rural communities. We are here to Help.

Help in a Crisis

Crisis and Suicide Prevention Lines

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • Crisis Line: 800.334.6622 or 530.891.2810
  • The Trevor Line: 866.488.7386. The Trevor Lifeline connects lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) young persons to a suicide prevention and counseling phone line with access to trained counselors 24/7.
  • The Friendship Line: 800.971.0016. The Friendship Line for Older Adults, Ages 60+ or Family and Friends. A crisis intervention, support, and resource line for older adults

Warm Line Available 4:30pm to 9:30pm, 7 days a week

  • The North Valley Talk Line: 855.582.5554. The Northern Valley Talk Line, provided by Northern Valley Catholic Social Services (NVCSS), is a non-crisis warm line offering peer to peer support, compassionate listening, and county-wide resource referrals.

Walk-In Services

Walk-In Crisis Services are located at 560 Cohasset Rd. Ste. 180, Chico, CA 95926, and available 7 days a week, 8:00am to 11:00pm, including holidays.

Crisis Services

Available to all age groups unless otherwise noted. These services are accessed by referral.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)

A cooperative effort among local law enforcement, first responders, and behavioral health providers to improve the interaction and experience for parties involved in a mental health crisis.

Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)

The Crisis Stabilization Unit Connects individuals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (24/7) immediately to a mental health professional for telephone intervention, information, or referrals. Referral based counseling is available 8:00am to 11:00pm for individuals to receive face-to-face crisis intervention and assessment.

Homeless Emergency Action Response Team (HEART)

The Homeless Emergency Action Response Team (HEART) program provides street outreach services, a 24/7 crisis hotline and mobile response, emergency shelter, assessment, case management, and brief individual and family counseling to stabilize living situations and strengthen families.

Hospital Alternative Program (HAP)

Age Range: Ages 0 to 17

Provided by Youth for Change, is a short term intensive service for youth at risk of hospitalization.

Mobile Crisis Team

Evaluates adults and youth who are experiencing a crisis in an emergency room, schools, or other community settings on a referral basis.

Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF)

Age Range: Ages 18 and over

A 16-bed, 24-hour acute non-medical facility providing a safe environment for individuals needing acute care for their mental illness during voluntary or involuntary admissions.  View more information about the Psychiatric Health Facility.
